The HALIOS^® sensor enables this expensive piece of equipment to protect itself from damage and to move out of the way of possible destruction.

The mini device, which is mounted behind an infrared translucent window in the mirror-casing, recognizes each approaching object from a distance of 5 to 50 cm.

The system functions independent of ambient light conditions, even in bright sunlight. It is irrelevant whether its mini operating electronics are mounted directly behind the mirror or whether the signals are transmitted via light guides.

The result is amazing when for example in a narrow parking lot the power mirror elegantly folds itself away from approaching shopping carts.
