Optics

The HALIOS® principle, which is integrated in nearly all MECHALESS products, demonstrates an optimum of optoelectronic circuit technology.

For many products it is necessary for the light to have a special form to attain the desired functionality.

In our state of the art optical laboratory, imaging as well as non-imaging optics are developed to generate the special light distribution and receiver characteristics necessary. For this purpose, among other programs, we use the ray-tracing program OPTICAD for the fundamental calculations and the math program MATLAB for measuring-data analyses.

    Optical test equipment

The equipment has been chosen in such a way that during a product development process we are able to measure the optics of the single optical components.

With the help of our equipment, which we are constantly expanding, we can measure spectral sensitivity, emission spectrum, absolute efficiency, transmission and reflection of materials. It is even possible to perform time-resolved measurements within micro-second scope.

Furthermore MECHALESS Systems is equipped with adequate instrumentation to test the functioning of circuits or components under 400 kLux ambient light conditions.

In addition to the characterization of the components and the optic development, we maintain an extensive collection of internally measured materials in order to be able to advise our customers quickly and with sound knowledge. This is especially helpful when our developments are integrated into already existing device covers, as in this case the optical characteristics are often not specified yet in close to infrared light range.

We are thus able to refer back to our extensive data base of measured materials, thereby offering the sophisticated measurement option in our optical laboratory and our know-how in this area as a service to our customers.
