HALIOS®-Evaluation Board "Optical Switch"

The optoelectronic Evaluation Board "Optical Switch" based on the HALIOS® IC E909.01 enables the user to experience numerous applications and to get to know the HALIOS® technology in a simple and easy manner.
This standard HALIOS® IC E909.01 is not only able to perform for example a simple "switch function", but also, depending on the particular application, to detect an object approaching the active sensor surface.
With just a few components it is thus possible to build for example light switches free of mechanics. Even physically controlled switches can be realized. In this case the switch event is recognized as soon as an object touches the surface of the sensor.
The sensitivity of these switches can be adjusted by an external µC over the SPI interface. A wipe across the sensitive area resets the system. The corresponding measurements are proportional to the acceleration and the velocity of the object and can be read out via SPI interface.
